Consumers’ awareness campaign and implementation of Consumers Protection Act and Rules. Setting up and functioning of State Consumer Protection Council, District Consumer Protection Council, State Commission, District Forum.

  Implementation of different control orders under E/C Act.

Construction of new Godowns, renovation and repair of existing Godowns.

Transportation of foodgrains, foodstuffs and other essential commodities through departmental trucks/carrying contractors. Time to time review of movement/induction of foodgrains/essential goods through surface transport system.

Quality control of foodgrains/foodstuffs through Technical Wing.

Close monitoring of supply and market price of essential commodities/consumer goods/goods & services through regular inter-action with the Merchant Association, Chamber of Commerce & Industries etc. Time to time review of placement of rakes for Tripura terminals by the Railways on private traders’ account.

Co-coordinating and facilitating enforcement of consumer oriented laws like PFA Act & Rules framed there under, Weights & Measures Act, Packaged Commodities Rules, and Drugs Control Orders etc. through enforcement machineries.

Creating consumer friendly atmosphere in the state by regular inter-action with and seeking co-operation from Merchant Associations, Chamber of Commerce & Industries, PSUs /Govt. Deptts. /Autonomous Bodies/ NGOs/ Vows/ Other organizations directly associated with consumers welfare and the Institutions created for redressal of consumer grievances.

Ensuring adequate and regular supply of POL products to the consumers/users by Oil Companies through close monitoring, co-ordination and ceaseless persuasion. This also includes prevention and detection of adulteration of POL products detrimental to the interests of the consumers.
